This car is quite literally a barn find. It’s kinda dusty and the serpentine belt fell off because it was so old. But it has zero rust and only 66,000 mile. The interior is immaculate.
It’s got some electrical issues but after a bit of replacing worn parts this thing is going to make a hell of a cool daily driver.

That is a pretty sweet E23, good job on getting this one back on the road.

I love E23s. Especially the coupe.
“electrical issues”
NO WAY. ON AN OLD BMW? :P

Was this “barn” a museum?
Damn, this is as clean as it gets

Thanks man. This will be the source of a lot of posts as I continue to work on it.

THAT IS COOL I NEED

Looking forward to it, I haven’t had the combination of time, space, and money to have a vintage BMW like that to work on. Have to live vicariously through other peoples posts on their experience.

You are making me break the 10th Commandment.
The envy is strong.

Shes a beaut. Good luck with the repairs.

George McFly’s car in the improved 1985.

It was between this and a 635 that was kinda beat up so I went with this.
Yea the windows don’t move, the gas Guage always says I’m empty, the speedometer doesn’t work, and the radio doesn’t work. But the sunroof opens!

I might have to make a post just about this dude’s collection. Had a couple old cars and a Ram SRT 10. Then about 35 motorcycles.

COOOL!!!! I love E23s, you never see them around - not even at German car shows. The last time I saw one was over a year ago

Wow, clean enough to eat off of. Congrats, E23s are rare breeds nowadays.

Thanks! I’ll be making a post this Friday with all of the questions I have. Some of the stuff I’ve figured out already. Some I have no idea.

You and I have both have automotive oxymorons. You have an automatic spyder (not saying it’s a bad thing, I liked my friend’s auto NA miata as a beach cruiser)
And I bought a 5-speed Luxobarge
![]() 07/06/2016 at 11:31 |
|
5-speed too!
![]() 07/06/2016 at 11:32 |

I’ll trade you transmissions.
Mine is a 3-speed BTW.

Thanks!
![]() 07/06/2016 at 11:34 |

Oh, wow. Had mine been an auto it would’ve been a three speed also.

YES

What a cool find!

Mother of god it looks so clean. Congrats and enjoy!
![]() 07/06/2016 at 15:02 |

Wow, that is a good find!
I love manuals as much as the next guy, but I have a hard time envisioning the kind of person who would order a $100k-ish (adjusted for inflation) luxury barge with a 5-speed. Is it sporty to drive, or is it kinda floaty?
![]() 07/06/2016 at 15:59 |

Is both an option? It feels just like my e30 except bigger.
![]() 07/07/2016 at 10:25 |

Interesting. Sounds like something that would be hard to put into words. Unfortunately, I’ve never had the pleasure of driving an E30, I hope to change that one of these days.
![]() 07/07/2016 at 10:26 |
|
I’d recommend an e30 instead of a miata any day.
![]() 07/07/2016 at 10:31 |
|
I’m sure I’ll end up having had both some day. I can’t stay away from cheap, fun project cars forever.

Black or brown? Can’t tell. I looove those things, been watching for an affordable one.
